Defending Champion Anna Nordqvist

Rolex Rankings No. 15 and two-time LPGA Tour winner Anna Nordqvist will defend her 2009 LPGA Tour Championship title this week. Nordqvist, who won last year's rain-shortened event as an LPGA Tour rookie, posted scores of 70-68-65 for a two-stroke victory over Lorena Ochoa. The victory was Nordqvist's second on the LPGA Tour. She captured her first LPGA title at the 2009 LPGA Championship.

Despite not winning in 2010, Nordqvist recorded a solid second-year campaign. She began the year making nine consecutive cuts which included a tie for tenth at the year's first major, the Kraft Nabisco Championship, and her season-best finish, a tie for second at the LPGA State Farm Classic. After missing the first cut of her professional career at the U.S. Women's Open, Nordqvist recorded two additional top-10 finishes - a tie for eighth at the Navistar LPGA Classic and a tie for ninth at the P&G NW Arkansas Championship Presented by Walmart.

Nordqvist possesses a steady, steely game and she approaches tournament competition in a calm and methodical way. While she will not overpower a course with her length, she will dissect it with her accuracy and deft putting touch. Nordqvist currently sits 23rd on the LPGA official money list and ranks in the top 20 in four different statistical categories. She is tied for seventh in putts per green in regulation, 15th in birdies, 18th in greens in regulation and 20th in rounds under par.

Nordqvist works with swing instructor Henry Reis, fitness trainer Kai Fusser and mental coaches Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott with Vision54.
