Last year’s finish proved to be one of the most compelling in Kraft Nabisco Championship history. Lincicome began the final round two shots behind best friend and U.S. Solheim Cup teammate Kristy McPherson and one shot behind fellow Solheim Cup player Cristie Kerr. On the 72nd tee, Brittany stood tied with McPherson and Kerr. With Kerr and McPherson laying up short of the water, Lincicome stood 210 yards from the pin with a 190-yard carry over the water. She hit a miraculous hybrid onto the green to set up the winning four-foot eagle putt to clinch the championship and her first major championship. Lincicome has competed three times in 2010 with a best finish of T26th at both the Honda PTT Thailand and the HSBC Women’s Champions.
The first two events of the 2010 LPGA season were captured by Ai Miyazato, who became the first player in 44 years to achieve the feat of winning the first two opening events.
