LPGA Founder, Louise Suggs, returned to the site of the nine-hole Lithia Springs Golf Course her grandfather, Rell Spiller, built in 1932 in Austell, Georgia. The course was closed in 1975 and is now being made into a 50-acre recreation park named the Louise Suggs Memorial Community Recreation Area. Suggs was on hand to help break ground and recalls playing on the course that cost 25 cents for nine holes, 50 cents to play 18, and 75 cents on the weekend.
