Rolex Move of the Week: Maria Hjorth

With her fourth LPGA Tour win at last week’s Avnet LPGA Classic, Maria Hjorth claimed this week’s Rolex Rankings move of the week. Hjorth recorded back-to-back 67’s on the weekend to finish two-strokes ahead of Rolex Rankings No. 11 Song-Hee Kim. The victory jumped Hjorth 11 places in the Rolex Rankings to No. 16.

Yani Tseng still holds the coveted top spot in the Rolex Rankings over Jiyai Shin for the 12th consecutive week. Suzann Pettersen jumped two spots to No. 3 after a tie for third at the Avnet LPGA Classic.

While Rolex Rankings No. 26 Hee Kyung Seo still holds a commanding lead in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race, LPGA Tour rookie Jessica Korda made one of the most substantial moves in the Rolex Rankings. Korda finished in a tie for 19th at the Avnet LPGA Classic after carding rounds of 75-69-73-70. The career-best finish catapulted her up 78 spots to No. 305 in the Rolex Rankings. She currently sits sixth in the Rolex Rookie of the Year race.''
