Leon’s junior career included competing in four USGA Girls’ Junior Championships and three USGA Amateur Championships. On the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit, she was a two-time Rolex Junior Second-Team All-America, won two events, and represented the United States on the 2003 PING Junior Solheim Cup Team. Leon captured both the 2005 Pacific Northwest Golf Association Women’s Amateur Championship and the 2006 Southern Amateur Championship, and was selected to the 2006 U.S. Curtis Cup team. In her two years at the University of Georgia, she was a unanimous 2006 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Year selection and was named First-Team All-SEC. She was named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) First-Team All-American lists in 2006 and 2007.
