  • The only South Korean on the LPGA Tour during her rookie yea rin 1998, Se Ri's dramatic win at the 1998 U.S. Women's Open inspired a surge in Korean women's golf. She is considered a pioneer of the game, inspiring a generation of South Korean golfers including current LPGA players Na Yeon Choi and Inbee Park who have been nicknamed "Se Ri kids."
