Suzann Pettersen, So Yeon Ryu, and Sun Young Yoo all fired first-round 6-under 66’s to finish in a three-way tie for the lead at the season-ending CME Group Titleholders.
The LPGA Tour’s season-ending event, the CME Group Titleholders, will kick off on Thursday in Naples, Fla. The second annual event will feature a star-studded field of 73 players who punched their ticket after qualifying at one of the 26 LPGA events this year.
At the beginning of the 2012 LPGA season, it was a runaway. Coming off a year where she won seven times on the LPGA and 12 worldwide, Yani Tseng was the no-doubt-about-it frontrunner in women’s professional golf.
Suzann Pettersen was nominated for winning back to back events on the LPGA Tour. Three weeks ago Pettersen defeated Catriona Matthew in a playoff at the LPGA KEB-HanaBank Championship and followed up that victory with another one at the Sunrise Taiwan LPGA Championship.
