How to Empower Girls to Give Back

We EMPOWER girls to give back to the very program to which they belong. LPGA-USGA Girls Golf members are encouraged to volunteer with administrative functions and mentor other participants to develop skills beyond the golf course. Some choose to assist with setup and breakdown, mentor younger players, be station leaders for Special Olympic activities, assist in retail, program registration, data-entry, web-maintenance or other projects.

To qualify, girls must demonstrate commitment, team work, respect and responsibility. It is rewarding to observe young girls discovering areas of interest through their experience and involvement in junior golf. Many of our program graduates have continued in golf as players, coaches, teachers or managers. Others have taken their learned skills to their chosen careers such as banking, education and law.

Volunteering and mentoring in a supportive and collaborative environment EMPOWERS girls to discover interests and opportunities beyond the golf ball!

Philosophy: “Don't let perfect stand in the way of good...sometimes good is good enough!”

How I started: Switched my focus to Golf from Figure Skating when I realized it did not matter where I was from or what it looked like. My total score was the final judge!
