Natalie Gulbis has a healthy outlook on life, golf after battling malaria
Natalie Gulbis finally won a major this year. It will not count on the official statistics, but trust us, it was a major victory for her. She beat malaria.
"I feel good actually," she said yesterday with a smile that resulted from more than having shot 2 under par at the U.S. Women's Open -- among the best scores by Americans yesterday at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton and her best round in her favorite tournament since 2005.

Gulbis engaged to former Yale QB
Natalie Gulbis doesn’t have a wedding date yet, nor does she have a venue picked out. All she knows is that by the end of 2013, she’ll be married to Josh Rodarmel, a former Yale quarterback and 1-handicap.
“This is my 12th year on tour,” said Gulbis, who was in Las Vegas practicing in triple-digit heat Monday afternoon. “I’m 30 and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
Gulbis met Rodarmel a few years ago through her affiliation with Power Balance bracelets, a company Rodarmel co-founded with his brother Troy. Read More>>
LPGA's Natalie Gulbis sidelined by malaria
Natalie Gulbis was looking to start the year on a good note.
Instead she's wound up on the sick bed.
Gulbis withdrew Tuesday night from the LPGA tour's RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup in Phoenix because of malaria she contracted in Asia. She withdrew after the first round of the HSBC Women's Champions in Singapore two weeks ago. At first it was reported she had flu-like symptoms and had not been diagnosed with malaria. Gulbis was treated and cleared to fly home.

New Natalie Gulbis Boys & Girls Club supported by golfer, nonprofit
Kids at the Natalie Gulbis Boys & Girls Club in the southwest area will have a reason to root for the club’s namesake each week on TV. Gulbis, a Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour professional, made a promise to them at her club’s April 9 dedication ceremony: For every birdie she makes on tour, she will donate $100 to the club.
One child asked her what channel he could see her on.
“The Golf Channel,” Gulbis said.

I feel lucky to make an impact on kids' lives
I have been lucky in my professional career to enjoy many great moments, but not one golf accomplishment or tournament round compared with what I was so fortunate to achieve April 8. That is when we officially opened the Natalie Gulbis Boys & Girls Club near my home in Las Vegas.
Ever since I was a teenager volunteering at Boys & Girls Clubs in Sacramento with my dad, I knew I wanted to open a club of my own one day.
