Lexi Thompson
Lexi Thompson makes just her second Solheim Cup appearance in 2015. Paired with Stacy Lewis during 2013's Friday afternoon fourball matches, the two went head to head with Carlota Ciganda and Suzann Pettersen. A tight match much of the day, the two teams arrived at the 15th hole all-square. Ciganda found the water and due to an incorrect ruling, delayed the match for 30 minutes. The Europeans went 1 up on the next hole and won the match. |
Cristie Kerr
Fourball matches are where Solheim Cup veteran Cristie Kerr has found her most success. A seven-time member of Team U.S.A., Kerr has a record of 9-5-0 in fourballs, winning during her career with Rosie Jones, Kelli Kuehne, Natalie Gulbis, Michelle Wie, and Nicole Castrale, showing her versatility as a fellow teammate. |
Michelle Wie

Wie and Morgan Pressel halved their match in the Friday fourball, she dominated 5&4 with Christina Kim during the Saturday fourball then turned around and won 1 up with Cristie Kerr in the afternoon. Wie capped off her week by defeating Solheim Cup veteran Helen Alfredsson who was making her eighth Solheim appearance, 1 up in the Sunday singles. |
Brittany Lincicome
Brittany Lincicome has had mixed success in her four Solheim Cup appearances, with a record of 5-7-2 for her career. Fourballs have brought Lincicome the most success, winning three points for Team U.S.A. Paula Creamer has been a great partner for Lincicome, the two found success in both the foursomes and fourball in 2011. |
Morgan Pressel
Morgan Pressel played in four of five matches during the 2011 Solheim Cup and won them all. That year, the four-time member of the U.S. Solheim Cup team found success with Paula Creamer in the Friday fourball, going 1 up on Laura Davies and Melissa Reid. Saturday when paired with rookie Ryann O’Toole the two dominated in both the morning and afternoon matches, winning 3&2 over Maria McBride and Anna Nordqvist in the morning and 2&1 over Sandra Gal and Christel Boeljon in the afternoon. Stanford went on to defeat Trish Johnson in the Sunday singles 3&2. |
Gerina Piller
Gerina Piller made her way onto her first Solheim Cup team in 2013 thanks to a captain’s pick. This year, Piller earned her way on Team U.S.A. by way of the final qualifying spot in the Solheim Cup Points standings. Piller struggled in her first appearance, winning just a half point for the American team after halving her Sunday match with Catriona Matthew. |
Alison Lee
A rookie on the LPGA Tour in 2015, Alison Lee played her way onto her first Solheim Cup team through the Rolex Rankings. While she is new to this team, she was twice before a member of the Junior Solheim Cup where she found success particularly in the singles matches, defeating her opponents 3&2 and 3&1 in her two appearances on the team. |
Lizette Salas
A rookie to the team in 2013, Lizette Salas again earned her way onto Team U.S.A for the second time. Salas will hope to improve on her first appearance and surely learned a lot from her first playing having nearly defeated Solheim Cup veteran Suzann Pettersen before halving their Sunday singles match. |
Brittany Lang
Solheim Nugget: Captain’s pick Brittany Lang will make her fourth appearance in 2015 for Team U.S.A. Playing in the Solheim Cup has been a learning experience for Lang who has progressively improved with each appearance, going 3-1-0 most recently in 2013. Lang has thrived in the Sunday singles matches and has yet to lose with a record of 2-0-1, making her a great anchor come Sunday for Team U.S.A. |
Paula Creamer
Solheim Nugget: Captain Juli Inkster knows exactly what she’s getting in selecting Paula Creamer for this year’s Solheim Cup team, having played in both the 2007 and 2009 matches with Creamer. The two lost just one match when paired together in four matches. Beyond her experience having played on five U.S. Solheim Cup Teams, Creamer is a fan favorite who brings an extra level of excitement that energizes her playing partners and fans. Despite missing the cut in her past three events on Tour, Creamer is a player whose best play is brought out by playing in the atmosphere that is the Solheim Cup. |
