Cancer is something that affects nearly everyone. One in three women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, with treatment often taking its toll both emotionally and physically. In 2007 the LPGA partnered with Pantene and the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G to help women who have lost their hair due to treatment. The result was the creation of the Pantene Beautiful Lengths event, held annually during the week of the tournament in Rogers, Arkansas with members of the LPGA Tour and local community donating their hair for the creation of real hair wigs for cancer patients. The event has grown from nine donations in 2007 to more than 300 this year, including the LPGA’s Jane Rah and Candy Hannemann. Morgan Pressel, Cristie Kerr and special guest Lindsey Vonn headlined this year’s event at the Walmart AMP that marked a milestone with the 2,000th donation in the history of the event.
