Cristie Kerr, Suzann Pettersen, Brittany Lincicome
10:04 a.m. – 1st Tee
Defending champion Cristie Kerr is grouped with Suzann Pettersen and Brittany Lincicome on moving day at the CME Group Tour Championship. Kerr opened with rounds of 71-67 to sit six-strokes back of the lead heading into the weekend. She made huge par saves down the closing stretch on Friday to keep her bogey-free round alive, not unlike the dramatic putts she drained for birdie on Sunday to win this event last season. Kerr is trying to become the third player to successfully defend her title this season, joining Anna Nordqvist and Brooke Henderson who successfully went back-to-back in June. Pettersen is also six-under par through 36-holes, opening with rounds of 71-67. She’s posted two top-7s in her last two starts and is looking to win for the first time in more than a year, her last victory coming at the 2015 Manulife LPGA Classic. Lincicome, also at six-under par, is the final member of this group. The big hitter opened with back-to-back rounds of 69 and is looking to improve on her T-11 finish in this event last season.
Mariajo Uribe, In Gee Chun, Charley Hull
10:16 a.m. - 1st Tee
Mariajo Uribe, In Gee Chun and Charley Hull are grouped together in the third round of the final event of the season. Uribe played her way into the field just last week, finishing in a share of 12th at Lorena Ochoa’s event in Mexico to climb her way into the field. She nearly broke through for her first career win in June when she finished in a share of fourth at the Cambia Portland Classic after carding a final round 75. Her career best finish is third at the Manulife LPGA Classic in 2015. Two-time major champion Chun, who won rookie of the year honors this season is in the hunt for her 10th top-10 finish of the season. Hull is the final member of this group, who played in the final group on Friday but struggled to a two-under par, 70 to sit five-strokes back of the lead heading into the weekend. Uribe and Chun are also seven-under par through 36-holes.
Lydia Ko, So Yeon Ryu, Ryann O’Toole
10:40 a.m. – 1st Tee
World No.1 Lydia Ko, So Yeon Ryu and Ryann O’Toole are grouped together on moving day in Naples. Ko fired a Tournament record, 62 on Friday to vault into a share of the lead, three-strokes ahead of her playing partners Ryu and O’Toole. In her current position atop the leaderboard, Ko is projected to sweep the season ending awards, which includes the Race to the CME Globe, Rolex Player of the Year, Vare Trophy and money title. While Ryu isn’t in the hunt for the season’s biggest honors, she is in search of her first win since 2014. The Korean has finished runner-up four times since her last victory and is on track to post her best finish in this event where she finished T-62 in 2015 and T-7 in 2014. O’Toole is in the hunt for her first victory on the LPGA Tour, her previous best finish coming in a share of fifth at the 2011 Safeway Classic. She has three top-10s in 2016 and finished in a share of 20th in this event last season.
