Tournament officials launch ticket sales, seek volunteers for 2016 tournament at Lake Merced Golf Club
DALY CITY, CALIFORNIA, March 10, 2016 – The third-annual Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic Presented by CTBC returns to Lake Merced Golf Club, April 18-24, with the top 15 players on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings committed to play. World No. 1 and back-to-back defending champion Lydia Ko will once again headline the field seeking her third victory in as many attempts at the LPGA’s only Bay Area tournament.
Ko will be joined by the likes of World No. 2 Inbee Park, No. 3 Lexi Thompson, No. 4 Stacy Lewis and No. 5 Ha Na Jang, the breakout start who has claimed two victories in the first two months of the 2016 LPGA season including last week’s HSBC Women’s Champions in Singapore.
“San Francisco has become such a special place in my golf career,” said Ko. “I have such incredible memories of my victories at Swinging Skirts and I look forward to returning to Lake Merced Golf Club for another great challenge.”

Tournament officials today announced that CTBC Bank has renewed as presenting sponsor of the 2016 tournament. As an original supporter of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic, CTBC supports the vision of Swinging Skirts to grow the game of women’s golf in Taiwan and North America.

The LPGA has increased the size of the player field from 144 to 150 players for the 2016 tournament with the additional six spots filled from the LPGA Priority List.
All four tournament rounds of the 2016 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic Presented by CTBC will air live on Golf Channel from 6 to 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
Several initiatives will debut in 2016 to expand the tournament inside and outside the ropes.

Friday, April 22 will be Els for Autism Blue Out Day with players, staff and spectators requested to wear blue in support autism awareness and Ernie Els’ foundation. A special gift from the Els for Autism Foundation will be offered to the first 500 spectators through the gate on Friday.
