This course certainly suits Thompson's eye, not an easy course but Thompson is 33-under in her last seven rounds at Blythefield Country Club.
“I just hit a lot of drivers, and if my game's on it comes together,” Thompson explained. “It's just a nice setting and atmosphere, it's one of our best tournaments.”
Chun, whose last victory came at the 2015 U.S. Women's Open, also turned in a bogey-free 6-under 65 and has been playing well in her rookie season. She has five top-10 finishes and currently holds commanding lead on the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race.
“Today my iron shot great,” explained Chun. “I like putting very well. I was so good at rolling the ball on the line. Today Saturday and we had a lot of spectators here. I was so happy to see them my play. I make great round today.”
Chun is looking forward to playing in the last group with Thompson tomorrow and learning from the experience.
