Seven Epson Tour professionals – Luciane Lee, Michelle Piyapattra, Reece Feducia, Nelly Korda, Kendall Dye, Kristy McPherson and Emily Gimpel – visited HOPE Landing on Tuesday in El Dorado, Arkansas. HOPE Landing is the official beneficiary of the 2016 Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout.
HOPE Landing’s mission is to bring hope and purpose to the lives of children with disabilities by helping them achieve their God-given potential.
“The hippo therapy was really neat, I had never seen anything like that before,” said Tour professional Gimpel. “Just to see how the kids were able to get therapy through the horses was amazing. It was great to see how much the facility does, how caring the people are and the amazing impact they have.”
HOPE Landing President and CEO Kristi Lowery said that in 2015, the organization wrote off $800,000 in order to not be a burden financially to the children’s families.
“HOPE Landing is so blessed to be the beneficiary of the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout,” said Lowery. “The professionals coming to HOPE Landing and meeting the children will be a life-long memory for the kids.”
Lowery said that 14 kids from HOPE Landing attended the junior clinic on Sunday at Mystic Creek and one parent saw an immediate impact.
“A parent called after the clinic and said that because of the clinic, they are going to continue golfing with their child who has a disability,” said Lowery. “This is just such a special partnership.”
