Already this season, Henderson has ten top-10s including a major win at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and is back this week looking to defend and pick up her second win of the year. Henderson Monday qualified for the Cambia Portland Classic Presented by JTBC in 2015 with a 68 to earn one of two qualifying spots in the field. Henderson entered the final round with a five-stroke lead and carded a final round 3-under par 69 to win by 8-stokes for her first win on the LPGA Tour, setting a new 72-hole tournament scoring record as well at 21-under par.
Former Champs In The House
In addition to Henderson, five former champions of the Cambia Portland Classic are in the field this week, including 2014 champion Austin Ernst. Suzann Pettersen is a two-time winner of this event, having captured the title in both 2013 and 2011 and the only multiple winner of this event in the field this week. The 2012 champion Mika Miyazato, 2010 winner Ai Miyazato and 2008 winner Cristie Kerr will also be teeing it up in Portland.
Earned Their Way In
Amateur Mariel Galdiano (69) and Tracy Stanford (72) earned their way into the field via Monday Qualifying. Galdiano represented the United States at the 2016 Curtis Cup in Ireland and was also a member of the 2015 victorious Junior Solheim Cup team. Former Texas Tech Red Raider Stanford is a current member of the Epson Tour.

Recent Stanford graduate Mariah Stackhouse (pictured above), Naomi Eun Young Ko winner of the Cambia Portland Classic Amateur Open, Caroline Inglis and Sydney Maluenda received sponsor invites for this week’s Cambia Portland Classic. Stackhouse, who led the Cardinal to the 2015 NCAA Championship and the 2016 NCAA finals, is making her professional debut as the recipient of the tournament’s first sponsor’s exemption.
Rookie Watch
The 2016 rookie class will be well-represented this week with 22 of 29 in the field this week in Portland; which includes 2015 Junior Solheim Cup team member Megan Khang, former University of Arkansas standout Gaby Lopez, and three-time Epson Tour winner, Epson Tour Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in 2015 and former Curtis Cup member Annie Park
