In Gee Chun
A model of consistency on the LPGA Tour, world No.7 In Gee Chun is one to watch this week in Michigan. Chun has five top-10 finishes this season, her most recent coming at last week’s Kingsmill Championship where she tied the Tournament’s 18-hole scoring record with a 9-under par, 62 on day three.
Ariya Jutanugarn
Already a two-time winner this season, having won back-to-back for her first victories on the LPGA Tour, Ariya Jutanugarn could make it three in a row this week in Michigan. Jutanugarn is currently ranked No.2 in the Rolex Player of the Year and Race to the CME Globe standings and sits third on the money list.
Laetitia Beck
Having held at least a share of the lead at some point during her last two starts on Tour, Laetitia Beck's game is beginning to click on all cylinders. She finished T-15 and T-18 in her last two starts, each week going low with rounds of 65 and 66 to climb to the top of the leaderboard.
Sei Young Kim
Winner of the 2016 JTBC Founders Cup, Sei Young Kim, is playing the same great golf she displayed last season when she picked up rookie of the year honors. Kim has three top-10 finishes in her last four starts including a T-3 last week at the Kingsmill Championship.
Lexi Thompson
Lexi Thompson could pick up her third worldwide win of 2016 this week in Michigan, the same state where she played so well last season at the Meijer LPGA Classic. Thompson has come close to winning again in recent weeks, posting four top-10’s in her last five starts.
Lydia Ko
World No.1 Lydia Ko picked up back-to-back wins in March and hasn’t finished outside the top-25 since. Ko’s game travels well and will be up to any challenge that may come from an unknown venue like Travis Pointe Country Club which hosts this week’s inaugural event.
Jessica Korda
In search of her second win in less than a year, Jessica Korda has picked up three top-10 finishes this season, the most recent coming in a share of 10th at last week’s Kingsmill Championship.
MJ Hur
It’s only a matter of time before MJ Hur wins again on the LPGA Tour. Hur has three top-6 finishes in her last four starts, including a T-5 showing at the Kingsmill Championship which included a final round 7-under par, 64. Hur nearly got it done in Texas, finishing in a share of runner-up behind Jenny Shin.
Minjee Lee
Since Minjee Lee picked up the second win of her career in April at the LOTTE Championship, she has three top-11 finishes in her last four starts. She nearly defended her title last week at the Kingsmill Championship where opened with a 66 and finished in a share of 10th for the week.
Caroline Masson
A T-6 finish at the season’s first major championship, the ANA Inspiration, gave Caroline Masson a boost early in the season. She picked up her second top-10 of the year at last week’s Kingsmill Championship and was one of only a handful of players in the top-10 who didn’t post one over par round during the rainy week.
