Chella Choi, Mirim Lee, Brooke Henderson
Final Round - 11:55 a.m.
World No.38 Chella Choi, No.34 Mirim Lee and No.4 Brooke Henderson are grouped together in the final round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Each member of this group is in search of their first major victory on the LPGA Tour. They begin the final round at Even par, two-strokes back of leader Lydia Ko.
Choi knows what it takes to come from behind for a win. She won her first event on the LPGA Tour at the 2015 Marathon Classic where she came from two-strokes back to defeat Ha Na Jang in a playoff. Her best major finish is a T-5 at the 2013 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
With a new caddie and new coach, Lee moved into a share of the lead on Friday at Sahalee Country Club and now finds herself in contention for the third time this season. Lee has two top-10 finishes so far in 2016. She finished T-26 in this event last year.
Henderson held both the first round lead and a share of the second round lead before struggling on moving day. Just two-strokes back of the lead, Henderson can’t be counted out, her lowest scoring average on Tour this season has been in the final round.
Amy Yang, Ariya Jutanugarn, Anna Nordqvist
Final Round – 12:05 p.m.
World No.9 Amy Yang, No.10 Ariya Jutanugarn and No.15 Anna Nordqvist are grouped together in Sunday’s final round. Yang launched into contention on Saturday with the low round of the Tournament so far with a five-under par, 66 to move to Even par for the championship. Yang credits her improved driving and putting for her success on Saturday.
Jutanugarn is looking to continue her great play of late, having won her last three starts on the LPGA Tour. Her best major finish came earlier this season in a fourth place finish at the ANA Inspiration where she led much of the final round before closing with three consecutive bogeys. 2009 KPMG Women’s PGA Champion, Nordqvist, is coming off her first win of 2016 after successfully defending her title at last week’s ShopRite LPGA Classic where she picked up her sixth career win on the LPGA Tour.
Lydia Ko, Brittany Lincicome, Gerina Piller
Final Round – 12:15 p.m.
World No.1 Lydia Ko holds a one-stroke lead entering the final round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. She looks to make history once again and win her third consecutive major title. The last player to do so was Inbee Park who won three majors in a row in 2013. Ko is sleeping on the 54-hole lead in a major for the first time this week, having come from behind to capture her titles at both the 2015 Evian Championship and 2016 ANA Inspiration.
Brittany Lincicome is also a two-time major champion, with both her victories coming at the ANA Inspiration where she twice came from behind to win, bridging a gap of as many as four strokes to win. The world No.25 has two top-10 finishes in 2016.
Gerina Piller is the only member of this group without a win or major title. The world No.16 has played the best golf of her career this season, posting seven top-10 finishes so far in 2016 including a tie for sixth at the season’s first major, the ANA Inspiration.
