Comfortable Final Group For Jang and Chun
Joining Katie Burnett in the final group of the LOTTE Championship Presented by HERSHEY will be a pair of friends from South Korea, Su-Yeon Jang and In Gee Chun.
“Su-Yeon Jang and I were both part of the Korean National Team together and went to the same high school together as well,” Chun explained. “She’s a great player.”
“We came up together in the amateur ranks,” Jang added through a translator. “We are good friends since amateur and we played tour together. I think tomorrow being paired up with her I’m going to be able to enjoy my round.”
Playing with Burnett will also be comfortable for Jang, who is making only her second start on the LPGA Tour, as she explained through her translator.
“I think she is very cute and very well mannered, so we really enjoy playing together today.”
Defending Champ Lurking
Defending champion Sei Young Kim finds herself four shots back of Katie Burnett entering the final round of the LOTTE Championship Presented by HERSHEY.
“I like this position now,” Kim said. “Yeah, last couple tournament win almost the same position, very similar position. Yeah, I got a lot of confidence now.”
Of her four wins on the LPGA Tour, two been of the come from behind variety, including her latest victory at the JTBC Founders Cup where she fired an impressive final round 62 to cruise to a five shot victory.
