18 Players Featured in Television Ads Debuting This Week on Golf Channel
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., January 29, 2016 – The LPGA debuted two new brand campaign spots this week on Golf Channel during the season-opening Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic. The two spots, entitled Mentors and Raising the Bar 2.0, are part of the LPGA’s long-running ad campaign and will air regularly this season during the Tour’s telecasts.
This year marks the sixth edition of the LPGA’s annual ad campaign and highlights the unique personalities of the biggest stars as well as the athleticism and competition involved in the women’s game. A total of 18 different players are featured in the spots that continue the popular “See Why It’s Different Out Here” tagline.
"We're thrilled to continue the LPGA 'See Why it's Different Out Here' campaign,” said LPGA Chief Commercial Officer Jon Podany. “Our players are terrific, and this campaign has been a great way to help our fans get to know them better beyond just the golf course."
The LPGA worked with Divot, a marketing and creative agency based in Austin, Texas, comprised of marketing and creative consultants Kent Simon and Rich Tlapek, who were two of the creators of the PGA Tour’s “These Guys Are Good” campaign.
The two new spots were filmed at the 2015 CME Group Tour Championship and feature:
- “Raising the Bar 2.0” – This spot features Stacy Lewis, Sandra Gal and So Yeon Ryu rising bright and early to get warmed up and ready for their day of stiff competition at an LPGA event. Despite the early start, Stacy and Sandra arrive at the driving range to find no space to warm up.
- “Mentors” – Hosted by Morgan Pressel, this spot features several veterans and rookies, outlining the issues that can plague new players on Tour. From finding the player lockerroom to unloading their gear every week, this spot takes a humorous look at these behind the scenes challenges for Tour newbies.
In addition to the LPGA’s Golf Channel telecasts, the spots will be featured through the LPGA’s international television partners, on LPGA.com, and via the LPGA’s social media channels, including YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.
