Match 17 – 10:30 a.m.
Thailand vs. England
Pornanong Phatlum and Porani Chutichai vs. Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Holly Clyburn
In a departure from the first two days, Pornanong Phatlum and Porani Chutichai of Thailand will be paired together for the first time. Phatlum played with Moriya Jutanugarn during the first two days with Chutichai paired with the other Jutanugarn sister, Ariya. With picking up only one point on day two, Team Thailand was ready for a shake up. They will face Team England’s Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Holly Clyburn, who have been paired together during the first two days. After beating the Americans on day one they halved their match with Japan on Friday.
Match 18 – 10:45 a.m.
Thailand vs. England
Ariya Jutanugarn and Moriya Jutanugarn vs. Charley Hull and Mel Reid
Saturday, Thailand’s Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn will play together for the first time this week. The sisters surprisingly played with their other Thai teammates during the first two days but will reunite on Saturday in a last push to pick up points to ensure the team makes it to the Sunday singles matches. They’re currently tied for second in the standings with the top-two teams from each pool advancing to the final day. The Jutanugarns will face England’s Charley Hull and Mel Reid on Saturday. Hull missed Friday’s competition due to illness, with Reid taking on Team Japan on her own and finishing 1-Down.
Pool A
Match 19 – 11:00 a.m.
Chinese Taipei vs. China
Candie Kung and Teresa Lu vs. Shanshan Feng and Simin Feng
Despite winning their first two matches, Chinese Taipei’s Candie Kung and Ssu-Chia Cheng are splitting up for the third day of competition. Kung will play alongside Teresa Lu on Saturday in taking on China’s Shanshan Feng and Simin Feng, which is also a new pairing for the team. Shanshan played with Xi Yu Lin during the first two days with Simin playing alongside Jing Yan. China was only able to halve one match on Friday, perhaps leading to the team’s interest in changing the line up.
Match 20 – 11:15 a.m.
Chinese Taipei vs. China
Yani Tseng and Ssu-Chia Cheng vs. Jing Yan and Xi Yu Lin
Yani Tseng and Ssu-Chia Cheng will pair up for the first time this week for Team Chinese Taipei. The pair will take on China’s Jing Yan and Xi Yu Lin, who are also playing together for the first time this week. China is currently tied for third in Pool A and in need of some points on Saturday in order to earn their way into Sunday’s matches.
Pool B
Match 21 – 11:30 a.m.
U.S.A. vs. Japan
Gerina Piller and Stacy Lewis vs. Mika Miyazato and Haru Nomura
Team U.S.A’s Gerina Piller and Stacy Lewis will play together for the third consecutive day, looking to win their first match of the week. Piller and Lewis led for much of day two before settling for a halve with Team Thailand. On Saturday they will face Japan’s Mika Miyazato and Haru Nomura, who have also played together during the first two days, bouncing back from a loss on Thursday with a win on Friday over Team England’s Mel Reid.
Match 22 – 11:45 a.m.
U.S.A. vs. Japan
Cristie Kerr and Lexi Thompson vs. Ai Suzuki and Ayaka Watanabe
For the third consecutive day, Team U.S.A’s Cristie Kerr and Lexi Thompson will be paired together. The duo bounced back from a loss on Thursday with a dominating 4&3 victory over Team Thailand on Friday. The pair will face Japan’s Ai Suzuki and Ayaka Watanabe, who were also paired together on the first two days and will be looking to win their first match after halving their first two matches.
Match 23 – 12:00 p.m.
Republic of Korea vs. Australia
Amy Yang and In Gee Chun vs. Minjee Lee and Su Oh
Republic of Korea’s Amy Yang and In Gee Chun will remain paired together for day three, taking on Australia’s Minjee Lee and Su Oh. Yang and Chun won their opening match of the week but fell to Team Chinese Taipei on Friday. The Australians were able to pull out a halve in their match with Team China on Friday in what was their first pairing together this week.
Match 24 – 12:15 p.m.
Republic of Korea vs. Australia
So Yeon Ryu and Sei Young Kim vs. Karrie Webb and Rebecca Artis
Republic of Korea’s So Yeon Ryu and Sei Young Kim will remain paired together for the third consecutive day. The pair will face Australia’s Karrie Webb and Rebecca Artis who teamed up for the first time on Friday and found success in a 2&1 defeat of Team China.
