Paula Creamer, Mi Jung Hur, Brooke Henderson

This week, Paula Creamer makes her third start at the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout alongside Mi Jung Hur and Brooke Henderson. Creamer is in search of her first top-10 of the year this week at Las Colinas where she finished tied for 11th in 2013. Hur has had a great start to 2017, she hasn’t finished outside the top-30 this season. She’s making her fifth start this week in Texas where she carded a final round 66 in 2016 to finish tied for second. Before becoming a member on the LPGA Tour, Henderson nearly won the 2015 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic near San Francisco, California. The then 17-year-old then flew to Texas where she won a four-player playoff on Tuesday after weather delayed the qualifier for that year’s Volunteers of America Texas Shootout. She makes her third start in Texas this week where she has twice finished in the top-20. The Canadian has gotten off to a slow start in 2017 but is beginning to show signs of returning to form with four top-14s in her last five starts.
Cristie Kerr, Suzann Pettersen, Ariya Jutanugarn
Group 13 – 8:16 a.m. – 1st Tee
Coming off her 19th career win on Tour, this week Cristie Kerr makes her fifth start in Texas. Kerr finished runner up at Las Colinas in 2015 and has never finished outside the top-11 in this event. Kerr is grouped with Suzann Pettersen in the opening rounds along with Ariya Jutanugarn. Pettersen is making her first start since the ANA Inspiration where she finished tied for third. She’s making her first start in Texas since 2014. Jutanugarn has yet to win in 2017 but continues to trend towards victory with top-8 finishes in her last two starts. She finished sixth at this event last season.
Lydia Ko, Charley Hull, Stacy Lewis
Group 15 – 8:27 a.m. – 1st Tee
World No.1 Lydia Ko is coming off her best finish of 2017 with a tie for second at the LOTTE Championship. She’s making just her second start this week in Texas where she posted a T-41 showing in 2015. Ko is grouped with Charley Hull and Stacy Lewis during the first two days in Texas. Hull is making her first start since the ANA Inspiration where she finished in a share of 14th. She’s making just her second start in Texas where she was T-16 in 2016. Lewis won in Texas in 2014, it was one of three top-10s she’s posted in Texas. She’s coming off a T-7 finish at the LOTTE Championship, her third top-10 of 2017.
Nelly Korda, Inbee Park, Anna Nordqvist
Group 36 – 1:10 p.m. – 10th Tee
2017 rookie Nelly Korda has played nothing like a newbie in her first season on Tour with two top-20s to start her season, including contending at the ANA Inspiration. Korda makes her first start this week in Texas. She will play alongside two-time Texas champion Inbee Park who has also had a hot start to the season with a win and three more top-11 finishes. Anna Nordqvist rounds out the group, also a winner this season at the Bank of Hope Founders Cup. She’s making her fourth start in Texas where she’s looking to crack the top-30 for the first time this week.
Gerina Piller, So Yeon Ryu, Michelle Wie
Group 40 – 1:32 p.m. – 10th Tee
New Mexico native turned adopted Texan, Gerina Piller returns home for this week’s event. She finished runner up at this event last season and looks to add a third top-5 finish to what has already been a strong start to her season. Piller will play alongside So Yeon Ryu and Michelle Wie in the first two rounds. Ryu, winner of the 2017 ANA Inspiration, continues her incredible streak of consistency with a sixth place finish in her last start at the LOTTE Championship. Ryu hasn’t finished outside the top-7 since October 2016. Wie has had an injury free start to 2017, which has allowed her to post two top-10s to start the year. She’s making her fifth start in Texas where she finished third in 2014, the last year she won on Tour.
