Jin Young Ko, Moriya Jutanugarn, Inbee Park
1:10 p.m. – 1st Tee
Third round leader Moriya Jutanugarn showed a lot of grit on moving day at the HUGEL-JTBC LA Open. She battled back from a double bogey start with an eagle on her inward nine to jump back into a share of the lead. She’ll need to display that same grit on Sunday to hold off rookie Jin Young Ko and 7-time major champion Inbee Park. The rookie has been impressive in her first season on tour. She’s relied on her experience on the KLPGA, where she won 10 times, to surge into contention with a third round 66. Ko will play alongside Park for the second consecutive round. She’s been unfazed playing with the Olympic gold medalist, saying she doesn’t get nervous. But with Park lurking just two strokes back in a bid to win for the second time this season is enough to make any player nervous. Ko and Jutanugarn start the day at 9-under par, two strokes ahead of Park.
Eun-Hee Ji, Marina Alex, Minjee Lee
12:58 p.m. – 1st Tee
Australia’s Minjee Lee soared into contention Saturday. She matched the low round of the day with a 5-under par, 66 to jump from T20 to T6. Lee looks to pick up her first win of 2018 on Sunday and will start the day 4-back of the leaders. Marina Alex has been in the hunt all week long. Although she struggled Saturday with two bogeys and a double, she rebounded with three birdies on her closing stretch to keep her first win within her grasp on Sunday. She begins the final round 3-back of the lead. Eun Hee Ji is also 3-back to start the day. The major champion held a share of the lead on Saturday but closed with back to back birdies to drop into Sunday’s penultimate group.
Caroline Inglis, So Yeon Ryu, Pernilla Lindberg
12:46 p.m. – 1st Tee
Caroline Inglis, a rookie in 2017, will play the final round alongside major champions So Yeon Ryu and Pernilla Lindberg. Inglis played just two events as a rookie in 2017, instead she played mostly on the Epson Tour. That experience has served her well in 2018, as she has yet to miss a cut and Sunday is in the hunt for her first top 10 of the year. She begins the final round 4-back of the lead. Ryu is five strokes behind at 4-under par after backing up Saturday with a 2-over par 73, which came one day after she posted the low round of the tournament with a 65. Lindberg, a newly minted major champion and first-time winner just earlier this month, is playing with a new sense of confidence and welcomes Sunday’s challenge to make a run at the leaders. She begins the final round 6-back at 3-under par.
