The military holds a special place in Lexi Thompson’s heart.
As a teen she took a Marine to her prom, she’s gone skydiving with Navy Seals and supported the Wounded Warrior Project. During the month long-hiatus she spent away from the LPGA Tour to discover what makes her happy away from the golf course, it should come as no surprise she spent part of that time with the individuals she’s long supported.
Two-weeks ago in San Antonio, Thompson hosted more than 500 members of the military for a free day of Topgolf. The group enjoyed brunch and were on hand for the unveiling of a new Red Bull Energy Drink can that features Thompson’s image. Red Bull North America also made a donation to the Seal Legacy Foundation, one of Thompson’s charitable partners.
“The people who serve our great country have always and will always be very important to recognize,” said Thompson. “It is very special for me to have the opportunity to spend time with those who sacrifice so much so that we may pursue our dreams.”
Thompson’s limited-edition can is available in Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Tampa, Nashville, Orlando and San Antonio. She’s the first female to be featured on a Red Bull Energy Drink can.
