For nearly a decade, Brittany Lincicome has worked to grow the game of golf in her hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. Wednesday, the two-time major champion hosted nearly two dozen players from the LPGA Tour at Vinoy Golf Club in St. Petersburg for her 10th annual charity event, which benefits the local First Tee chapter.
“Truly an amazing day raising money for the @firstteestpetersburg,” Lincicome posted on Instagram. “The day couldn’t have been any better.”
Major champions Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, Anna Nordqvist, Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel were among the LPGA players who participated in Lincicome’s pro-am. For many, the event was an opportunity to not only support their friend but also reunite with players they hadn’t seen during the off-season.
“Saw so many friends I hadn’t seen in months, nearly lost my voice laughing so much,” Christina Kim posted on Instagram alongside the photo with a junior golfer. “Played a supremely fun golf course for an amazing cause and met some incredible people along the way! What a great way to spend the day!”
Lincicome will continue as a de facto host at next week’s Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions. The long-hitter is not only sponsored by the tournament’s title sponsor but she was also one of the few LPGA participants in the field when the event was part of the PGA Tour Champions’ schedule.
