Morgan Pressel, Mel Reid, Camilla Lennarth
7:10 a.m. – 10th Tee – Creek Course
The trio of Morgan Pressel, Mel Reid and Camilla Lennarth make their 2019 LPGA Tour debut together this week at the ISPS Handa Vic Open. Pressel finished T57 in her last start at the 2018 Blue Bay LPGA. A solid finish by Pressel, who is searching for her first top 10 since April 2018, would provide a spark to the veteran as she begins her 14th season on the LPGA Tour. Reid doubled down on her career during the off-season in a recommitment to her game, moving to the United States and putting in extra time with her instructor Jorge Parada. She knows what it takes to play well at 13th Beach Golf Links, the site of this week’s tournament, where she won in 2017. Lennarth has also found success at the Vic Open, where she finished T26 in 2018.
Karrie Webb, Georgia Hall, Pernilla Lindberg
7:50 a.m. – 10th Tee – Creek Course
Karrie Webb kicks off her 25th season as a professional this week in her home country of Australia. The World Golf Hall of Fame member has fared well playing in front of her hometown fans with 13 victories on the ALPG Tour. In 2018, the 7-time major champion played a limited schedule for the first time in her career and this week is making her first start since the AIG Women’s British Open in August. Fellow major champions Georgia Hall and Pernilla Lindberg will play alongside the Hall of Famer during the opening rounds of the ISPS Handa Vic Open. Both Hall and Lindberg broke through for not only their first wins, but also first major victories in 2018. Hall has also won in Australia, where she captured the 2016 Vic Open and finished T3 last year. Both Hall and Lindberg played in the season opening Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions, where Hall finished 9th and Lindberg 24th.
Charley Hull, Minjee Lee, Brittany Lang
8:10 a.m. – 10th Tee – Creek Course
Minjee Lee, already a two-time winner of the Vic Open, begins her quest for a third title alongside Charley Hull and Brittany Lang. As Lee makes her 2019 debut, she looks to carry over the momentum she found last season in which she picked up her fourth win on the LPGA Tour and recorded 12 more top 10s. Hull is already off to a hot start in 2019. She won in January on the Ladies European Tour for her first worldwide win since 2016. Lang is making her first start on Tour since the Evian Championship in September. Lang will look to find a spark this week after what has been a challenging few years for the major champion, who is looking to record her first top 10 on Tour since October 2017.
Sarah Jane Smith, Jodi Ewart Shadoff, Grace Kim (a)
8:50 a.m. – 10th Tee – Creek Course
Australia’s own Sarah Jane Smith makes her 2019 debut this week at home. She finished T62 in her final event of the year at the CME Group Tour Championship, where she later revealed she learned she was pregnant with her first child. Smith is expecting in July 2019. She will play the opening round alongside Jodi Ewart Shadoff and amateur Grace Kim. Ewart Shadoff is also making her first start of the season and looking to record her first career win in 2019. Kim, who is also from Australia, is currently ranked 61st in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
