It’s a good thing that Stacy Lewis considers herself to be a very organized person. These days, the 37-year-old has a lot going on. In addition to playing the LPGA, being a wife, and being a doting mom to a daughter, Chesnee, she is on tap to captain her first Solheim Cup team (Spain, 2023). Monday night, she took 20 prospective U.S. team members out to dinner.
In addition, Lewis has been a longtime ambassador for KPMG, this week’s title sponsor. So her week is filled with several off-course events and obligations as she works to make sure the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is a success.
Fortunately, seeing Congressional for the very first time has kept her somewhat invigorated.
“A little worn out. More worn out than I would like to be,” she said, asked about how she is feeling heading into a major week. “Definitely wearing a lot of hats. Got a lot going on in my head and on my phone, but, man, Congressional, just walking on property, this place is awesome.”
As for being organized, that's a trait she has had for a long time. It definitely helps in the busy times.
“I'm a very organized person,” she said. “I've been that way for a long time. I'm a list maker. I have a calendar that I write everything down in. The biggest challenge is just being where you are. I'll catch myself at times when I'm practicing checking my phone or something like that and just trying to put one hat on at a time and do that.”
How is she feeling when donning her “player’s hat” these days? She had two good rounds in the 60s last week at the Meijer LPGA Classic and said she has been working with Mizuno to dial in some new shafts in her irons. She likes what she is seeing.
