LPGA Tour winner Julieta Granada has announced that she is retiring from professional golf. The 37-year-old shared the news on her Instagram page on December 10, saying how proud she was of everything she achieved in her LPGA Tour career and that she’s looking forward to being the “best mom” she can be for her daughter Gia as well as coaching at the International Junior Golf Academy Bishops Gate.
Granada first earned LPGA Tour Membership for the 2006 season after finishing in a tie for sixth at the 2005 LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. She became the first Paraguayan to win on the LPGA Tour when she captured the 2006 LPGA Playoffs at The ADT title, taking home the first $1 million first-place prize in women’s golf, and has recorded 27 additional top-10 finishes since becoming a member.
Granada’s career earnings total $4,290,679, and she represented Paraguay at the 2016 Rio Olympics, serving as her country’s flagbearer for the opening ceremony and ultimately finishing in a tie for 44th. She has one Epson Tour victory on her resume, capturing the YWCA Futures Classic title in 2005.
Granada made seven starts on the LPGA Tour in 2023, earning a season-best result of T31 at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational alongside playing partner and her fellow Paraguayan Sofia Garcia.
