Hi,
I had the opportunity to go watch the ladies on the LPGA Tour play the Canadian Pacific Women's Open in London, ON this Sunday, and I wanted to comment on my experience.
I was extremely impressed with how these ladies play the game. They rarely miss, and when they do, it's only by a very small margin. I stood beside them on the tee boxes and was amazed that virtually every drive was straight down the middle. Shots from the fairway were no different. When they did miss the fairway, it was usually by less than 5 yards. Wow is all I can say. I have been to a couple PGA Tour events, and I have to say that in my opinion, pound for pound, the women are better golfers. From 1st to last, it just seemed to come down to a short game competition. The girls that landed closest to the hole, and putted better were at the top.
I also wanted to comment on how these women carried themselves with such class and grace. In particular, I followed Paula Creamer for her round on Sunday, and even though she was out of contention, she was a joy to watch. She played amazing, but like I said earlier, the only difference between her and the leaders was putting. She didn't putt poorly...she just didn't make as many as the leaders. Paula carried herself with class and grace, taking time to engage with the spectators, paying special attention to the kids. Paula was amazing!! It was so refreshing to see a professional athlete act this way. This just goes to show why professional golfers are the best and the LPGA ladies are in a class by themselves.
Loved attending this event, and will definitely attend more.
Thanks,
