- Twice tied her career-best finish in 1990: tied for fourth in the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic and placed solo fourth at the Mazda LPGA Championship.
- Crossed the $100,000 mark in single-season earnings for the first time in her career in 1990.
Amateur
Ertl started playing golf at the age of seven and by the age of 14 was a club champion. While at Michigan State University, she won medalist honors in the 1977 and 1978 Big Ten Championships. She was named an All-American in 1979 and that same year was named the first ever Michigan State University Sportswoman of the Year. In 1988, Ertl was inducted into the Women’s Collegiate Golf Hall of Fame.
