LINCICOME MAKES MOVES
Brittany Lincicome’s 6-under par 66 matched the low round of the day and the American climbed her way up the leaderboard to T3 after starting the day in a tie for 18th.
Another low day on Sunday could make Lincicome the second American with multiple wins on the season, joining Lexi Thompson - Lincicome won the season-opening Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic in late January. She hopes most of the rain that is forecasted for tomorrow will pass over the area quickly.
“I feel I am hitting the ball well and playing well,” Lincicome said. “The golf course sets up for my game. I can bomb it on most holes and not get into too much trouble or I can hit three week and still get it down there. It just depends on the weather tomorrow. I like to think I am good under the pressure of weather but me and wet weather are not the best of friends so hopefully it will pass through like it did today with a couple of showers.”
BROOKE MAY CRASH LYDIA’S PARTY A SECOND TIME
Just over a year ago, Brooke Henderson took down Lydia Ko in a playoff to win her first major championship at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Henderson could spoil the Ko-coming-home party this week and earn her fifth career win, and second of the season, in the Kiwi’s home country on Sunday.
Despite the rivalry that has budded between the two young superstars, Henderson has enjoyed plenty of cheers from the New Zealand crowd this week. She also knows it’s anyone’s ballgame at Windross Farm.
“There are a lot of players around me that could shoot a low number so everyone has to go out and shoot a lot of birdies,” said the 20-year-old. “It depends a lot on the conditions but if it is like today, then 5-under or 6-under will probably win tomorrow.”
