RANCHO MIRAGE, CA – The second round of the ANA Inspiration was suspended at 7:03 p.m. PT due to darkness. 56 players will return to the course Saturday morning at 7:15 a.m. to finish the second round. Golf Channel will broadcast the completion of the second round beginning at 7:30 a.m. PT. The first round was suspended on Thursday afternoon due to high winds and wasn’t completed until Friday afternoon.
Suzann Pettersen holds the early lead on day two at Rancho Mirage. She returned to the course at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning to much calmer conditions and posted a four-under par, 68. She followed that in the afternoon with a three-under par, 69 to lead by one at seven-under par.
“I played really good. It really hasn’t been that long of a day, but I played quite a bit of golf. Just Steady Eddie, just plugging along, hitting good shots, giving myself chances,” Pettersen told LPGA.com
Seven times Pettersen has finished in the top-10 at Mission Hills, including three times a runner-up.
“How can you not love this place? It’s heaven for golf and great surroundings,” said Pettersen. “Just really got to be on your A-game to feel like you can attack this course. I’m driving the ball well so I’m giving myself good irons into the greens.”
