CHASKA, Minn. (May 21, 2019)– The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship has announced that Saturday, June 22, will be “Youth Day,” and will feature special youth programming as the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is contested at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota from June 20-23, 2019.
Youth Day will provide an unequaled opportunity for young people to see the best golfers in the world play in a major championship while they try their hand at golf and participate in numerous fun activities. The PGA of America has built a full schedule for Saturday, June 22, with engaging activities fit for youth and their families, including:
- The Youth Fun Zone, powered by Minnesota PGA Section –Offeringvarious activities, the Youth Fun Zone will be located at practice greens by the South Main Entrance. It opens at 8 a.m and runs through the afternoon.
- National “Go Like a Pro” Lesson Zone– PGA teaching professionals will provide complimentary instruction on driving, chipping and/or putting by the Hazeltine Clubhouse, near Hole #1 tee.
- Complimentary Junior Admission –As part of the Championship’s mission to grow interest and participation in golf, the Championship will provide up to four complimentary junior admissions (17 and under) with every paid adult ticket.
- Youth Giveaway –While supplies last, kids who visit the Youth Fun Zone will receive a souvenir Championship branded golf ball to take home.
“Bringing youth closer to the game of golf has been a priority for the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship from the start,” said Championship Director Renee DeLosh. “We are excited to create opportunities for kids to participate in fun golf activities and to offer complimentary youth tickets, making championship level golf accessible to young people and their families.”
The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship continues the rich tradition of the LPGA Championship. One of five majors in women’s professional golf, the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will bring together 156 of the top female golfers in the world. This will be the first time the Championship will be played in the state of Minnesota.
