It’s official. Karrie Webb is now a golf course architect.
Friday, the World Golf Hall of Fame member announced on Instagram that she is joining forces with designer Ross Perrett to form Perrett Webb Golf Architects.
“I would like to announce my partnership with Ross Perrett in forming Perrett Webb Golf Architects. It’s an exciting time for Ross and myself!” Webb shared in a social post. “We look forward to getting started on our newest major job in rejuvenating Indooroopilly GC in Brisbane Australia. Give us a follow on @perrettwebb to see our progress.”
Perrett and Webb have worked together over the last several years. The pair submitted a design for the 2016 Rio Olympic games and were selected as one of the finalists but did not receive the winning bid. In February, the pair received their first successful bid to begin work on restoring Indooroopilly Golf Club in Brisbane, Australia.
“To be awarded our first project together in my home state of Queensland is really exciting and I can’t wait to get started," Webb told LPGA.com earlier this season.
Webb’s move into the golf course design space is an opportunity she’s been able to take advantage of as she’s limited her schedule over the last few seasons on Tour. She made nine starts in 2019 and told LPGA.com at the start of the season she hopes to continue playing on Tour despite her reduced schedule. Click here for more on Webb.
